Creditors vote to bankrupt Yukos.
Creditors of the Russian oil company yukos have voted overwhelmingly to ask a bankruptcy court to liquidate the beleaguered firm.
The court is almost certain to agree the request at a hearing schedule for August 1 and will appoint a supervisor to sell its assets.
They reject a last-ditch rescue plan put forward by Yukos management.
The decision will spell the end for what to be used to be the country’s biggest privately-owned oil firm.
Russia tax authorities and state-owned oil giant Rosnefl are among creditors chasing Yukos for $17bn (9bn Eur)
Assets likely to be sold off include some of Russia’s biggest refineries with Rosneft among those who could benefit.
Consipiracy theory
Last week, Steven Theede quit as Yukos boss after denouncing the creditors’ meeting as a “sham”.
Yukos has struggled to survive after a series of tax demands totaling $27bn.
It says the demands are linked to a political campaign against its founder, Mikhail Khodorkovsky, who is currently serving a long sentence in Seberia.
In 2004, the back tax bill led to Yokus’ main Yuganskneftgaz subsidiary being expropriated by the government and sold off at auction – to be ultimately acquired by Rosneft.
The sale led to a legal challenge from Yukos when Rosneft floated on the London Stock Exchange.
In his resignation letter, Mr Theede said the creditors’ meeting would be attended by those who are intent on destroying the rest of Yokos and taking its assets with no serious consideration being given to our financial restructuring plan.
He added that he had been told court – appointed bankruptcy manager, Eduard Rebgun, had prepared a report for the creditors stating that financial restructuring was impossible and the company should be liquidated.
Ok, below are just some corrections, you should look up an English monolingual dictionary for the correct usage of the related words and phrases:

Now I’m living in a flat of 3 rooms at a apartment building with my brother. He is a computer programmer. He earn a lot money and pampers me very much . I’m really enjoy living here. There’s one bed room, one guest – room ( also the place for my brother sleeping) and a kitchen. That’s a neat little flat. We have spent lot of time to decorate it.
One month ago, I have a new neighbour. He rents a house next to mine. He’s a job because I see him leaving the house every morning and in the evening I always unintentionally see him coming home on the stairs. When he see me, he says hello. I just smile only and says nothing. I don’t like him very much. Because he looks like a cowboy. He’s living with her girlfriend. I know it’s not unusual these day. But I still don’t like it, boy and gird living together and not married. My brother, either too.
His girlfriend is old as me ( trac tuoi toi). I don’t know she has job or not. She look beautiful and model. I’ve never spoken to her. Hic.hic.. I don’t like to have a new neighbour like that. Oh, my God.
Debt trading company sees profit, problems
The state – owned Debt and Assets Trading Company (DATC) has signed contracts to buy mortgage and collateral of insolvent companies valued at VND 347,8 billion ( US $21.75 million) since its inception in February 2004, it announced recently.
DATC director Phan Thanh Quang said that the company’s most notable contracts included a VND131,5 billion contract with Eximbank, a VND 133 billion with Whole Grains Import – Export Company, and a VND 18,6 billion contract with Viet Hoa bank.
Quang said the past two years of operation have revealed inherent difficulties in the company’s operation, especially since pertinent legal framework remains inadequate and businesspeople remain largely unaware – or skeptical – of the service, he said
The nation’s debt trading market remains rudimentary and many businesses are unaware of the benefits of trading debts, especially in instances when companies are stuck with non – performing loans and face insolvency, Quang said.
Many of the 20 State – owned enterprise to which DATC has been assigned to help settle bad loans were uncooperative, he said, adding many more were reluctant disclose internal financial information. He said the activity often involves several ministries and departments which lack co – ordination and agreemen, with further compounds complications.
The Government needs to create regulations that specify the responsibilities of State – owned and private business , which would help them settle bad accounts without third – party intervention. In the event disputes remain unresolved, all parties should be required to co – operate with debt trading companies, he said.
The World Bank recently invested more than half a million dollars in DATC to help implement a project on developing technical assistance on setting bad debts. DATC, capitalised at VND2 trillion, remains the only company in VN in the debt trading business.
