One Tip for Longer and Straighter Drives

From beginners to pro players, what makes golfers most excited is hitting the ball pure. Many of them have been asked to keep the trail elbow close to the body on the backswing. That is not a good driver swing tip, according to golf instructor Michael Breed. With his/her trail arm cramped going back, the golfer will have a narrow swing and a restricted body turn and will undoubtedly struggle to get power and consistent strikes.
Forget that technique for a moment. Breed suggests that your trail arm (right arm for right-handed players) should be as long as possible for as long as possible. That will help a lot. It broadens the swing arc, increases the distance the clubhead travels back, and as such, creates more room for the clubhead to accelerate into the ball. It also helps to pull the body into a full rotation.
Another benefit is that the clubhead won't get stuck behind your body when it is going straighter. Players who get stuck are those who swing into the ball from too far inside (pushes or hooks) or those who heave the club away from the body on the downswing (pulls and slices). see more: Best Golf Drivers In 2018 – Top Picks And Reviews

Breed’s technique also helps to create space between the club and the golfer's body. The result is that the trail elbow can drop down at the start of the downswing and set up a robust inside path to impact.
In short, your one swing thought should be "Trail your arm long for as long as possible." When you can do that, you will hit longer and straighter drives.
