Fabregas has scored 14 goals in 120 league games for Arsenal

Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas has reiterated his commitment to the club.

Reports in Spain quoted the 21-year-old hinting at a future move to Real Madrid, particularly if Arsenal finish the 2008-09 season trophyless.

But Fabregas told the club website: "I am happy at Arsenal, my future is here and the priority is to achieve success and win trophies at Arsenal.

"I think that some people are just trying to make mischief but my intentions are very clear."

Fabregas, who played a key role in Spain's Euro 2008 triumph, signed a new eight-year contract in 2006.

The Catalan joined Arsenal from Barcelona as a 16-year-old in 2003 and it was reported that Fabregas, following the departures of Mathieu Flamini, Alexander Hleb and Gilberto Silva this summer, could be the latest high-profile name to leave the Emirates Stadium.

"I have not spoken to any media so it's frustrating to read quotes that I have supposedly said about my future," he added.

"I have spent the summer relaxing with my family, friends and girlfriend and I return to training with Arsenal (on Tuesday)."

William Gallas, meanwhile, has accepted he made significant errors last season as Arsenal captain but has promised changes to his approach if he is given the armband for the new campaign.

"You know I learned a lot, you want to be the best captain, give good advice to your players, but sometimes you can make mistakes as well so I think this season I know what I'm going to do and I know I am ready to change my way to speak to the players."

Last season the Gunners finished third in the Premier League and reached the Champions League quarter-finals but Arsene Wenger's men are still without silverware since 2005.

"We have to win something because the trophies are more important at the end of the season," said Gallas.

"Last season we were near to winning something, I hope this season it will be different. Everybody knows what they have to do, we are ready."
