Do you have specific requirements to separate friends from acquaintances?
Sometimes I use the terms interchangeably because people can be offput by the the word acquaintance and I’m trying to not come across as cold as I am, or for simplicity/habit. - Matching Bff shirts
Acquaintance = frequent or semi frequent interaction, if it’s not to get something out of them it’s because I have fun in their company
Friends = probably would be sad if they died, some emotional value, has prompted a rare empathetic/sympathetic response at some point.
